Harry Eck challenged us with a puzzle at the May meeting:
"It's 1866, you've shopped at the General Store and to pay for your five-cent purchase you have eight different denominations of coins you may use. There is no change coming back to you, the Flying Eagle cent and the Indian cent are considered small cents. Using the coins found in circulation, how many different combinations can you come up with to pay for your purchase?"
At the June meeting Harry presented the answer and at least one member had it correct! It's quite a puzzle and certainly worth the attempt to list all the combinations!!!
